20 Days of WoW Blogging - Day 2

Day 02 – Why you decided to start a blog

This is a very interesting topic for me to explore, as I have never considered myself a writer.

Some background

Growing up, I was always a reader and not much of a writer. I would constantly read, at the breakfast table, during summer vacations, late into the night with the glow of low watt light bulb. During my high school years I struggled with my English classes and I had an experience with a teacher that dampened any enthusiasm I may have had for writing, There was an assignment to write a paper in the point of view of a character from a book that we were reading. The character that we were writing the point of view was southern woman who was not very educated. So, I wrote the paper in southern drawl and paid no attention to proper grammar or punctuation. Well, the teacher did not like that I took a "creative" approach to her assignment and long story short, I ended up failing English that year and never really wanted to write for fun.

Potential Project

Fast forward a few decades and I found myself in a very different frame of mind. A good friend of mine and I were talking about a few subjects and we decided that one of them could make a great book. We started writing together and I found the process to be very stimulating as well as relaxing and entertaining. I really enjoyed coming up with ideas on what to write about and working back and forth with my good friend.

Enter WoW

I started playing WoW and I started to research all of the wonderful information about the game that is available on the Internet. I listened to Podcasts, read blogs and poked around in the Blizzard WoW forums. As I started to learn more about this game, I found that I sometimes had a different viewpoint on a certain blog post, or a story that I thought might be entertaining to share, or perhaps a new spin on an old gold making idea.

We are at the Present

So, I decided to start this WoW Blog. I already have many ideas for blog posts and I am looking forward to sharing with the community,
